This stunning and unique exhibition showcases part of Karin and Lindsay’s extensive collection gathered while they were living in Japan. With qualifications in teaching, Karin and Lindsay spent ten years working at Osaka International School – Karin as the Head of School, and Lindsay in the Humanities, and Design and Technology departments.
With an extensive background in pottery and textiles when living in South Australia – being involved with The Jam Factory in Adelaide, and working alongside significant Australian potters and craftspeople – Karin and Lindsay took the opportunity whilst living in Japan to immerse themselves in Japanese culture, art and crafts. Visits to all the ancient kiln sites, scouring markets in Kyoto and connecting with master craftspeople led to an exquisite collection that spans pottery, textiles, household items, dolls and so much more. Becoming caretakers of these beautiful pieces has ensured that each piece has been preserved for future generations to enjoy.
All work in the exhibition is for sale – don’t miss the opportunity to add something wonderful to your own collection.
